How to Start an OEM / ODM Project with Hokwang
To begin an OEM or ODM project, please prepare the following information before submitting your inquiry. Providing complete details upfront allows our team to give you an accurate feasibility assessment and timeline within 2–3 business days.
1. Product Reference or Concept Drawing
Provide an existing product sample, photograph, sketch, or CAD drawing that represents the design direction you have in mind. If you do not have a drawing yet, a written description of the function, dimensions, and appearance is also workable as a starting point.
2. Target Production Volume
Please share your estimated annual demand or first-order quantity. This helps us assess tooling cost, per-unit pricing, and lead time. Our standard ODM MOQ is 500 units for hand dryers and 1,000 units for soap dispensers and faucets. Trial quantities can be discussed case by case.
3. Target Market and Certification Requirements
Specify the country or region where the product will be sold. Different markets require different certifications:
North America: UL / cUL (hand dryers), NSF/ANSI 61 + 372, cUPC (faucets)
Europe / UK: CE (LVD + EMC), UKCA, WRAS (faucets, UK only), RoHS
GCC (Middle East): G-Mark (mandatory for all products)
Australia: SAA (electrical), WaterMark (faucets)
Hokwang can advise on certification feasibility and, in most cases, assist with or manage the certification process.
4. Surface Finish and Material Preference
Specify your preferred casing material and finish. Common options include:
Stainless steel 304: brushed satin / mirror-polished / matte black
Powder-coated steel: matte black, white, or custom color
ABS plastic: white, grey, or custom color
PVD-coated: gold, brushed brass, gun metal or custom color
5. Special Functional Requirements
Please provide any specific features required: HEPA filter (H12 or H13), brushless motor (for longer service life), UVC LED sterilization, IoT/app connectivity, IP rating (IP24 or higher), or compliance with specific standards (e.g., EN 50155 for railway applications).
6. Project Timeline
If there is a fixed delivery date or project deadline, please let us know so that we can plan the development process accordingly. Standard ODM tooling takes 6–8 weeks. Samples are typically ready within 2 weeks of tooling completion. Mass production follows confirmed sample approval and will be subject to the quantity and our production schedule.
